Le Pouldu (Bretagne), France Tour 13, Day 5 (19 April 2026)

I’m writing this entry in August 2026. Shortly after arriving in Yport(that was 15 April 2026) my laptop died on me and I fell so far behind with the blog that I let it go. With Tour 13 lasting almost 3 months, it would have been too much to bring it up to date, even if I could have remembered all that we experienced over the ensuing weeks. Having said that, I want some kind of record of Tour 13 and I have therefore decided to make a short entry for most of the days when we were out on Tour 13 using photos and comments that I posted on Facebook during our travels. Fortunately, I posted something most every day.

“We’re pausing for a couple of days at a very quiet beach resort (Le Pouldu) near Clohars-Carnoet in the Finisterre department of Bretagne. Lovely beaches, great cider (brut with no gas) and a pretty little church…. Le Pouldu was home for a fair while to the artist Paul Gaugin and I enjoyed a coastal walk today which included many scenes which he captures on canvas. Love the one reproduced in this post.”

Our intention was to stay for a couple of nights. However, the weather looked promising for the next few days; we were delighted with our campsite; the area is well served with restaurants and bars and; to cap it all, there is much of interest in the area. In the end we stayed for four days, taking in Doelan, Pont-Aven and Kerascoet during our stay.
